IE4 induction motor 15 kW, 4-pole, 400 V

IE4 induction motor 15 kW, 4-pole, 400 V. A super-premium-efficiency motor to IEC 60034-30-1. Over its life, a motor's electricity costs many times its purchase price, so the higher efficiency usually pays back on motors that run most of the day.

Key features

• Efficiency class: IE4
• Speed: 1500 rpm
• Frame: cast iron, IP55
• Standard IEC frame sizes and mountings (foot, flange or both)
• Suitable for variable speed drives

When to replace

• When an older motor fails: buy the efficient one instead of rewinding (rewinds often lose 1–2% efficiency).
• Long-running motors (over about 4,000 hours a year) on fans, pumps, compressors and conveyors.
• An IE4 motor of 15 kW typically has around 3–5 percentage points higher efficiency than an IE2 motor of the same size; Plantmargin works out the saving from the machine's measured running hours and load.

Installation

• Check frame size, shaft height and mounting against the old motor; send us the old nameplate.
• Align couplings with a laser or dial gauge: misalignment wastes energy and destroys bearings.

Warranty and support

• Manufacturer's warranty, usually 12–24 months from delivery; the exact period is stated on your quotation.
• Supplied with the datasheet and manual; calibration or test certificate where the product has one.
• Installation, commissioning and connection to Plantmargin can be quoted with the product.
